My kingdom for a chick game

(from a story from the New York Times. Free registration required) "Mr. Young cautions that not every film, no matter how popular or celebrated, can be adapted into a video game. For example, gamers are not likely to see "The Hours" or "Chicago" games popping up on their Play- Station 2 consoles. Action, fantasy and science fiction genres appear to be the most adaptable. Fellowship Applications at CRIC (University of Manchester)

As part of the European Commission's new funding programme, Framework Programme 6 (FP6), opportunities exist for researchers, either mobile within Europe or coming into Europe, to spend 12-24 months at a host institution. CRIC - the ESRC Centre for Research on Innovation & Competition - at the University of Manchester is keen to build upon its success in Framework Programme 5 (FP5) by hosting a number of Fellowships under FP6. As such, it is offering to support high quality applications from researchers looking to undertake their research within the Centre.

Digital Games Research Conference 2003

DiGRA today announced its brand new conference, which will be held at University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, on November 5-8, 2003. The Call for Papers is still not out, but should be available later this year. The deadline for submission will be by the end of April but, again, the actual dates remain to be announced.nnI am thrilled at seeing the field expanding and certain a big new conference is exactly what it needs for this year. Fruits and videogames

Today I overheard two persons talking on the quality of Japanse fruit candy. As real fruit is extremely expensive in Japan, these people argued that Japanese people excelled at recreating their original flavor. A peach candy is certainly a simulated peach, at least by my definition of simulation.
